Technology Commercialization Specialist, Engineering Sciences

Chris currently serves as a Technology Commercialization Specialist for the Office of Technology Transfer and is a registered Patent Agent with the USPTO. Chris helps review, protect, and commercialize technologies that originate from the engineering, plant, and animal sciences at West Virginia University (WVU). In this role, Chris spends time educating faculty, staff, and students on intellectual property protection and affiliated university policies and procedures. Chris also helps WVU researchers realize their technologies in the form of real and virtual prototyping.

Chris has advanced degrees in mechanical and aerospace engineering from WVU specializing in experimental and computational thermal and fluid sciences. He has a broad technical background performing and managing translational research and development programs on behalf of defense and federal regulatory agencies that include the Air Force, Navy, and Federal Aviation Administration, among others.
